
HERPETOLOGY FIELD ASSISTANTS NEEDED (3) during early May to August, 2010 for an MS project studying the impacts of energy-related road networks on reptiles and amphibians in southwest Wyoming. Primary responsibilities will include extensive visual encounter surveys, species identification, habitat/vegetation surveys, and assistance with traffic counter installation. Assistants will gain experience in western reptile and amphibian species identification, GPS, data collection, and wildlife and habitat survey methods. Salary will be $1,800-2,000/month (DOE) with housing provided. Demonstrated interest/experience in herpetology is desired, but not necessary. A willingness to work in areas with poisonous snake species is required. Applicants must have a valid driver's license, and be able to handle long days on their feet in all types of weather.
